Most of my 30's were spent in Los Angeles free lancing art to major Corporations. I also had a gig air brushing shirts in a large mall especially at Christmas ($$$$$) Some of my free lance work involved designing transfer art for shirt transfers, being sold world wide. I was doing artwork for, at that time, the largest distributor of shirt transfers in the country. Any t-shirt shop in the free world would have my designs to offer. Was watching a TV show, that Dolly Pardon had going for awhile, being filmed in Hawaii, one of the shows stunt men, came out and was wearing one of my transfers. I got a kick out of it.
I had done thousands of shirts in Florida. Air brushing beach scenes, sun sets, Names. I'm talking over 40,000 shirts in a span of a decade. I always smile when someone comes up to me and tells me that themselves or a friend or a relative does what I do, Air Brushing. Chances are they've air brushed maybe what I did in one season in their whole career of years. Only a few of us remain that were at the beginning. In Florida it was beach scenes and names with little custom work. In California it flip-flopped. Everyone wanted custom, Cars,Animals, Caricatures,Logos,Portraits and now and then a name or two. It was great training to be able to knock out custom work in California as fast as I use to knock out beach scenes in Florida.
All this gave me the edge in Los Angeles free lancing to the Major Corporations. I could kick out design concepts faster than most and was heavily experiences in all subject matter from....Babes to Babies....and all in between. It backfired one time. A National skate board company told me the price they pay for designs when I returned in a few days with ample designs. They assumed I must of already had these designs and probably were sold before. No one could knock out that many in a few days they thought so they lowered their price per design and the ones they didn't buy their artist came out with a bad version of my concepts. When I asked to keep the originals, they thought I would resell them and I had to point out, I was the creator, I could go home and do them all again easily.........and I never did any more work for them but moved on to L.A.Gear and eventually designed shoes,watch faces,boxers,shirt designs and I got thrown into computers at the beginning of windows. Damn, why didn't I buy stock in Microsoft!!!!??

Two babies.....One is Laughing and playing with it's feet the other is crying and crying and crying and crying. The difference. The crying baby is worried about the future that it can not see except through its own fear. The Laughing Baby playing with its feet is retarded...we should all run in fear and be scared every moment of our lives...wait....ooops...wrong ending....the laughing baby is living in the moment and not concern with the uncontrollable.
